Unlocking the Gifts of Anger

An IFS Experiential Workshop

In many cultures, anger remains one of the most misunderstood and unwelcome emotions, often burdened by the belief in its destructive power.

In this workshop, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of anger through the Internal Family Systems approach. Together, we will embark on a journey to comprehend the parts within us that hold the anger energy, acknowledging that each part has its own story and purpose. Our goal is not to suppress or eliminate the angry parts but to receive their insights and gifts, so we can make good use of the powerful energy that anger offers to our system.

Time: Friday, May 31st, 2024, at 5:00-6:30pm Pacific Time

Intro to Using the Internal Family Systems Model in Treating Trauma

Tuesday, April 30 · 9:30am - 12:30pm PDT

Hosted by Family Paths

This workshop provides an overview of the theory and core concepts of the IFS model, case studies using IFS principles and techniques to help clients with complex trauma histories such as system-involved and adverse childhood experiences, and examples of utilizing IFS as a self-care practice for therapists. In addition, this workshop demonstrates a non-pathologizing and compassionate view of trauma symptoms and psychopathology, so that we can invite more safety, connection, and healthy boundaries into the therapy room.

This was an excellent training: well-paced, informative, and contained. I greatly enjoyed the
experiential exercise, and found it to be remarkably effective, even though I have no experience with IFS myself.
— Participant
Excellent trainer. Good at explaining concepts. Good use of personal experience to help illustrate the model.
— Participant
Dora was an amazing facilitator and clearly a very skilled clinician. The experiential workshop was very effective in bringing together all the concepts.
— Participant
I look forward to using “parts” language to allow my clients to externalize some of the intense emotions they may be experiencing.

Setting Heart’s Intention

Begin your 2024 with intentionality, mindfulness, and a profound connection to your self energy. Join this highly experiential workshop, crafted as a sacred space for pausing, reflecting, and setting the tone for the coming year. By integrating the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), this workshop will lead you on a gentle exploration of your internal landscape, fostering a deeper understanding of your inner world and promoting a sense of harmony as you step into the new year. No previous IFS experience needed.

This helped to channel my gratitude for last year’s blessings and set an intention of more presence and connection to spirituality for this year.
— Participant
This was my first time being exposed to IFS. There was one point when I was journaling during the workshop where I was moved to tears.
— Participant

In this training, I am going to share my experience with Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) as a trauma therapist and a client. TEAM-CBT Therapists Training Session

IFS Demo and Q&A

Feedbacks from participants:

“I’m noticing in IFS “slow is fast”  with Dora (and the client) vs TEAM CBT, heal quick, get the finish line. A good paradox to merge the two.”

“A very powerful and deeply moving therapy session, thank you so much for Dora for the incredible skills and presence in the session. There was a sense of real healing taking place.”

“Thank you for being here and demonstrating this powerful work and your valuable skills! Your soothing voice was so comforting and helpful as well as how patient you are while guiding each parts that came up for (the client).”

IFS Therapist Panel

APISWC Northern California July Networking Forum

My colleagues Philip Chang, Rebekah Gong, and I will be hosting an introductory IFS workshop with Asian Pacific Islander Social Work Council Northern California!

As Asian Pacific Islander (API) identified IFS therapists, we can't wait to share our firsthand experience with this incredible therapeutic model.

Please keep in mind that while this workshop provides valuable insights, it is an introductory session and not a substitute for IFS Institute training. However, it's an ideal opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the model from API therapists like us.

Feedbacks from participants:

“A new perspective on self from the Asian Chinese perspective. Being immersed in the Chinese terminology for IFS. The culture of 强权。Legacy burdens of self sacrifice for the good of family, community, society. The difficulty to accept compliments as a protector.”

“Thank you for the workshop. It will help me immensely to work with Mandarin-speaking clients using IFS.”

“I really enjoyed Dora's facilitation style and the large group forum discussions, as well as the small group discussions, and the meditations/exercises!”

“I like the interactive experience of mediations and small groups. It allowed you to understand it deeply and opened the door to recognize my own feelings around my own life.”

This training is in Mandarin-Chinese.

Thank you for your IFS workshop. I really enjoy it and it’s been a booster shot for my work sessions with clients today!
— Participant
I enjoyed your workshop, Dora, and the way you explained this theory and how it connects to self-growth. Your personal sharing and authentic self-presentation really impressed me. :)
— Participant
— Participant
— Participant

— daixunry
